Coming to a new place for the first time can be a bit daunting, and at Grace, we want you to feel welcome and secure when you visit us for the first time. As a church, we seek to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We aim to be clear and relevant in all we do so that everyone is welcomed, included and helped. Sunday morning: 10.30-11.45

What can I expect when I arrive?
As you arrive you will be welcomed by people who will be glad to show you around. You will receive a weekly leaflet giving information for the Sunday services and the weeks ahead. The atmosphere is friendly and we trust you will get to know people quickly.
Our venue is simple, welcoming and comfortable.
We seek to cater for all; we provide a loop hearing system, accessible toilets, large print Bibles and hymn sheets, a staffed creche and Sunday Schools for all ages from pre-school to teenagers. We are still learning – so please ask if there is something we can help you with.
In your car?
Pay and display operates in the streets immediately outside the church from 11am until 6pm on Sundays, and from 8.00am until 6.00pm during the week. Paying £1.50 before the morning service will cover the car until midday. Free street parking is further away. For a map and directions to Grace, click Here.
What happens in a service?
There is a mixture of singing, praying, reading of and teaching from the Bible.
In the morning, children are welcomed and after a talk given to them, they leave to attend Junior Church (click here for more details).
Our services last for between an hour and an hour and 15 minutes.
Refreshments are available after all our services. We want to encourage people to be with one another in a relaxed atmosphere.
The style of our services seeks to express the diversity of the people who Christ welcomes. Church is for all and we seek a balance in the style of our singing so as to enable all to express worship in song.
What should I wear?
There is a mixture of dress styles, reflecting the range of people who follow Jesus and commit to be together – some wear shirt and ties, other jeans. Please come as you are.
What sort of music do you use?
We sing hymns from sources such as Grace Hymns and Praise! as well as other modern hymns by writers such as Stuart Townend. Our singing is led usually by a piano, and often accompanied by other musical instruments; hymns are usually projected onto our video screen. Large print copies of the hymns used for each service are also available to those who would benefit from them.
What Bible version do you use?
We provide an ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible in every seat in our auditorium, and offer both standard and large print editions. Often, individual scriptures will be projected onto our main screen.
What facilities do you have?
We offer full cloakroom facilities, including ladies and mens toilets, as well as toilet facilities for the disabled. Both our buildings are fully accessible for disabled visitors. Our main buildings provide a loop hearing system for those with hearing devices.
Special services:
• Christian Baptism: In the New Testament, when people trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour they expressed it in baptism.
Baptism doesn’t change a person – making them a Christian. It’s a statement that they have been cleansed by Jesus, that they belong to Jesus, that they have died to living for themselves and now live for Jesus.
• The Lord’s Supper: As a family of followers of Jesus, we join together to eat bread and drink wine to remember what Jesus has done for us in his death. We welcome other baptised Christians who are committed to a Christian church to join with us
What is ‘grace’?
Undeserved – impossible to earn – outrageously extravagant
We were God’s enemies. This is expressed in hostility against him, or presumption that we are fine without him or just indifference towards him. While we are like this, God makes the first and greatest move towards us. In love he sent His Son to be our rescuer. The action taken is one of ‘grace’.
Jesus lived the life we should have lived, and died the death we deserved to die. Because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus we can now fully rely on Him to give us forgiveness for our past, His continuing presence for today and a great hope as we face eternity.
