Junior Church

Each Sunday morning, we cater for all ages of children, right from babies all the way up to teens and twenties. If you need more details, call us on 01704-531751.

When is it?

During the Sunday morning service in term time.

Who are we?

Sunday Ignite is a group for young people of Secondary School age.

What happens?

The young people arrive in church for the start of the Sunday service at 10.30. We stay for the start of the service, the first hymn and the children’s talk. We then leave the service and go across the road to the Grace Centre.

We then chat informally over a drink and biscuits. This allows the group to get to know each other better and to catch up on what has been happening in the previous week.

We start the main teaching session with a prayer and then we spend about 20 – 25 minutes studying a Bible related theme relevant to the young people. Bibles are provided. We try to make the sessions as lively and interactive as possible. The young people are encouraged to discuss the issues raised and contribute as much to the session as they feel comfortable with.

We end the session by discussing with the young people the things that they would like to pray about. This may be something in the news or related to them personally at school, home or church. We keep a record of these issues in a note book to review each week. We are encouraged to see how the Lord has answered our prayers over the previous weeks and months. We then pray together this is led by the leaders but any young person who wants to is encouraged to pray.

Starts off in Grace Church, then moves over to Grace Centre.

Beyond Sundays

We look for opportunities for the young people to spend time together outside the sessions. In the past this has included recording a song for the Family Christmas Carol service, making biscuits to be served after the church service and a summer BBQ. The young people are encouraged to attend Friday Ignite.
